OUR FELLOWSHIP...

Christian Fellowship Ministries

In 1970, Pastor Wayman Mitchell went to the small town of Prescott, Arizona.  Shortly after his arrival, a number of young hippies began coming to church. These people were very different from the original church members; however, as they were welcomed, God began to pour out His Spirit on the congregation.

The church soon began a coffee-house concert ministry, which was used as an evangelistic tool. Hundreds of young people responded.

Personal evangelism began to be one of the basic foundations of the church.  Then came impact teams: Groups of people that would travel to other nearby cities to share God's word. Over time, God began to reveal His plan of discipleship: training young couples for ministry within a local church.  In 1973, the first couple was launched directly into the ministry, and God blessed them!  Churches were then planted throughout the United States.

In 1978, our fellowship planted its first international church in Australia. After that, churches were started in Mexico, Holland, and Germany. As we came to a greater understanding of God’s global mission, churches spread throughout the world.  Now, Christian Fellowship Ministries has over 3,400 churches in over 140 nations, with the number growing daily.

The Potter's House of Upper Darby is a product of that vision. We are working to see it expanded in the short time that remains before Christ's return. God has given us a mission for the day in which we live. Our message is simple: Jesus Christ is the only hope for man’s salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:20

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
